puppybowl2.jpgToday marks the 6 day countdown to one of the most watched sporting events in the United States, The Super Bowl. Whether or not your home team is in it, chances are you’ll be hosting or attending a “Bowl” Party.  True the pre-game show ads have great in past years, but there’s incentive to switch channels to Animal Planet on Discovery for Puppy Bowl IV.

Tune in Sunday, February 3, from 3-6 PM (ET/PT) to catch these little puppies play their hearts out on the highest rated cable show at that time slot on Super Bowl Sunday. Here’s more from Animal Planet on the big event:

“Before the big men in pads take the field for their gridiron battle, watch some players that are ready to rumble and ‘ruff’ their way to victory.  We’ve traded in linebackers for labradors and quarterbacks for corgis and we’re releasing the hounds for PUPPY BOWL IV.

From baby beagles to mini dachshunds to mixed breeds — viewers are in for a fantastic lineup that’s itching to play in a winning combination of tackles, puppy penalties and fido first downs. The renowned Harry Kalas, voice of NFL Films, returns to call the play-by-plays of this year’s game.

And this year, viewers are able to see all of the frolicking like never before. For the first time, PUPPY BOWL IV will be broadcast in high-definition, capturing all of the thrilling action of our cute and cuddly pups in stunning clarity.”

The best part about Puppy Bowl is the puppies are from shelters, and the show contains information on how viewers can adopt rescued puppies and help their local shelter.
